Celebrating Haryali Teej at Parmarth Vidya Mandir

August 7, 2024

Haryali Teej, celebrated on the third day of the Shukla Paksha in Shravan, commemorates the divine union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. This festival symbolizes the monsoon season, bringing lush greenery that represents prosperity and happiness.

Hindu married women observe a strict fast from dawn to dusk, offering prayers to Lord Mahadev and Parvati. They wear green attire and apply mehndi as part of the puja rituals.

At Parmarth Vidya Mandir, all our teachers embraced the spirit of the festival by wearing green, inspiring our students to understand and appreciate our rich culture, traditions, and the importance of the environment.

We organized a mini drawing competition with nature as the theme to raise environmental awareness among our students. Senior girl students enjoyed trying mehndi art on paper, adding a fun and creative touch to the celebrations.

The highlight of the day was planting an amla sapling in our school, brought from our Kanwad Mela camp. This act of planting a tree filled us with beautiful memories and a sense of satisfaction as we celebrated this year’s Haryali Teej.

Wishing everyone a joyful and prosperous Haryali Teej!
