Free Medical Camp at Nail Gaon
May 12, 2017
The Divine Shakti Foundation’s Free Medical Care Camp is back in action and visited Nail Gaon, Yamkeshwar, 25km from Rishikesh. This is an area we visit regularly as it has, like many remote villages, limited access to medical facilities.
The population is 300, with over 50 patients treated during our camp. A variety of conditions were seen to such as colds & coughs, arthritis, joint pain, high blood pressure, diabetes, leucorrhea, tooth decay, fungal & skin infections acidity & indigestion.
Most of the patients were elderly women with skin infections caused by a noxious weed. About 15 children attended mainly with dental issues which we identified was from being given too many sweets and therefore not eating their meals. The team helped to educate the patients, both children and parents, on this issue, as well as informing them of the free dental care given daily at the The Swami Shukdevand Charitable Hospital on the premises of Parmarth Niketan ashram.
The Divine Shakti Foundation (DSF) shares its deep gratitude for its team of sevaks (volunteers), Vinodbhai (London, UK) Dr Gina (California, US) and Jyoti Sharma and Medical Camp Co-ordinator and Lead Dr Priya Singh, from Parmarth Niketan for serving selflessly in this camp. The weekly camps are conceived and inspired by Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji, Founder of DSF, President of Parmarth Niketan, and are continuously supported by the dedicated leadership of Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji, president of DSF.
