SOUTH INDIA TSUNAMI RELIEF GALLERY

Upon seeing the devastation wrought by the 2004 tsunami, both immediate, emergency measures were taken as well as long-term, permanent measures to bring relief to the area. Work included provision of basic, immediate necessities to victims; permanent reconstruction of the villages Pannithittu and Pattincheri, which included over 350 homes; construction of a new orphanage complex which included a school and medical facilities; and construction of a new center of abandoned, widowed and destitute women including a vocational training and computer center.
