Knox College Students Intern at Parmarth

August 7, 2015

Knox College students, Allison May Bruiser, Swechhya Rajbhadary and Raeann Boero, inspired and coordinated by Knox alumini (and a beloved member of the Parmarth family), Ms.Susan Blew, spent a month and a half of their precious summer vacations recently as interns in the service of humanity at Parmarth Niketan (Rishikesh).

During their summer internships, they worked diligently on service projects inspired, lead and guided by Pujya Swamiji’s vision and mission of selfless service for the welfare of all. Many of their days were spent performing careful research for the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance’s mission of helping to ensure that everyone, everywhere has access to clean and healthy Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). On the weekends, they could regularly be found planting trees near the Ganga River with Ganga Action Parivar and compassionately serving families in remote Himalayan villages through the Divine Shakti Foundation’s weekly medical camps.

They were deeply touched by Pujya Swamiji’s divine vision for a better world for all, Sadhvi Bhagawatiji’s words of wisdom and Swamini Adityanandaji’s enthusiasm and guidance towards service.

On their last day, they filled countless hearts with joy as they sang a beautiful bhajan in Hindi at Parmarth Niketan’s Ganga Aarti. Afterwards, with tearful eyes, they expressed their gratitude for their summertime experience, and were blessed by Pujya Swamiji with a green Rudraksha sapling, which will be lovingly planted on their behalf, so they can return again and again to see it thrive in this beautiful and sacred land of Rishikesh.
