Sadhvi Bhagawatiji Celebrates World Children’s Day
November 21, 2019
Divine Shakti Foundation’s Parmarth Vidya Mandir School becomes a festive and joyous tribute to the glory of the Divine Child.
After a beautiful welcoming ceremony that included fragrant floral garlands, tilaks and colorful street sketches, Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, President of Divine Shakti Foundation, Secretary General of the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, was warmly welcomed to Parmarth Vidya Mandir for festive musical and yogic celebrations of World Children’s Day.
Surrounded by angelic and delighted faces, Sadhviji was treated to an array of performances that perfectly symbolize the innocence and extraordinary potential of children – and why it is so vitally important that the tenets and precepts of UNICEF’s Convention for the Rights of Children, which celebrates its 30th anniversary today, are continuously and consciously implemented to protect and nurture these extraordinary treasures of creation.
In serving children, I have found myself. Such a joy to spend #WorldChildrensDay w/beautiful #children at one of the free schools run by our @DivineShaktiFdn! Let us all serve children of all races, religions, colors & cultures, across the world. #ChildrensDay2019 #ForEveryChild pic.twitter.com/C9nQY9aUTK

Sadhvi Bhagawatiji presented a series of awards to select students for their extraordinary performance in district athletic competitions. Four students excelled in their individual sports, and were presented with beautiful trophies, medals and certificates.
In a beautiful and inspiring address to the students, faculty and guests, Sadhviji applauded the talents of the students and graciously thanked them for such wonderful performances which were energetically MCed by Smt Vandana Sharmaji. She explained to them the importance and significance of World Children’s Day, and encouraged them to pursue lives that include more value-based living and yoga practice.

“With Pujya Swamiji’s blessings and support,” said Sadhvi Bhagawatiji, “you’re getting a wonderful education. And what you learn here, you can use in the service of the nation.” She lovingly asked all the children, “Who’s going to serve the nation?” Everyone replied enthusiastically,“We will! We will! We will!”
She continued, “To do service we have to have healthy bodies. We get healthy bodies through yoga. And to have healthy bodies we must have clean bodies. This means using toilets and washing our hands. We must have sanitation and hygiene in our lives to have clean bodies. To have clean minds, we do yoga.”
This is joy! #UNICEF's #CRC is so vital – to protect these divine treasures & ensure they can thrive, not just survive.
