World Senior Citizens Day Eye Check-up & Spectacle Distribution Camp
October 1, 2024
With the divine blessings of Param Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, a special one-day eye check-up and spectacle distribution camp was organized today at Parmarth Niketan’s Swami Shukdevanand Charitable Hospital, from 9 AM to 2 PM, to honor and promote the health and well-being of our senior citizens.
In celebration of World Senior Citizens Day, the camp focused on serving the elderly, offering free eye check-ups, spectacles, and medicines. Senior citizens were screened for far and near vision, cataract, glaucoma, and other eye diseases. Those in need received free spectacles and medicines, ensuring that their vision is cared for with compassion and respect.
During the camp’s inauguration, Pujya Swamiji, President of Parmarth Niketan and Founder of Divine Shakti Foundation, emphasized that senior citizens are the heritage of our society and it is our sacred responsibility to care for them. He reminded us all that Indian culture is rooted in respect for elders, and called upon society to always be mindful of their needs.
The senior citizens who attended expressed deep gratitude for the initiative and appreciated Parmarth Niketan’s ongoing efforts in providing health services, not only in this area but across Uttarakhand.
Grateful to all the volunteers of Divine Shakti Foundation and the entire Parmarth Niketan family for their dedication to this cause. Together, we will continue to uphold the spirit of seva for the well-being of our elderly.
