14 February, 2014: Fruit Distribution in Newly Adopted School on Valentine’s Day
February 14, 2014
On Valentine’s Day, , Divine Shakti Foundation visited a new school we’ve recently adopted and distributed fruit to the children. The children were so, so beautiful. Everyone got apples AND oranges, but most didn’t realize they were getting both and would take one and then start to walk away. We had to call them back to take the other fruit!
We did a show of hands to ask what they want to be when they grow up. The vast majority want to be doctors, another good sized batch want to be teachers, and there were lots of future policemen! What a gift it is for DSF to be able to provide them with an education that will help them reach their goals! DSF informed the children that whoever gets good enough grades to go to medical school, we will take care of all their expenses and make sure they become doctors!
From a beautiful, typical small village outside of Rishikesh, the seeds of such hope, faith and confidence are sprouting and growing.
