DSF’s Project Give Back Provides Free Medical Care To Villagers

July 3, 2016

A free medical day camp was organized by Parmarth Niketan, with Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji’s blessing and inspiration and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati’s leadership and dedication, under the Divine Shakti Foundation’s Project Give Back initiative, to provide quality and free medical care to under-served populations.

The camp saw nearly 40 patients, providing free minor surgery, treating wounds and infections, joint care and massages for shoulder pain.

Dr. Priya Singh along with Biba Ma travelled 40km from Parmarth to serve the villagers from Mala in Pauri Garhwal. The villagers were very happy to see the medical team. A villager, Mr Jaspal, could not do enough to make everyone comfortable in the meagre surroundings.

Road construction work has been going on in this area for the last year. Consequently the construction workers also dropped in to get treatment for their wounds which Dr Priya was able to clean up. Whilst she did this, the local children enjoyed having Bibi pop gummie vitamins into their mouth.

After Medical Camp was finished, Dr Priya Singh and Bibi Ma demonstrated the Sawyer Water Filtration System to Bhagat Singhji, who had helped organize the camp. He will be giving this filtration system to the local school which has over 85 children.
